A re-design and improvement of Big Liquid (2024), Big Liquid Mk II aims to break the altitude world record for a student-built liquid rocket at FAR-OUT 2026.
Big Liquid Mk II will focus on rebuilding upon the airframe used in Big Liquid (2024) as well as collaborating with propulsion and electronics sub-teams to design an easily installed ignitor and improve recovery, respectively.
Big Liquid Mk II is led by our VP of Aerostructures, Mikayla Deters. Mikayla is a sophomore studying aerospace engineering at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and was a member of PHOBOS (2024) and BIG LIQUID (2024).
