RDE (2025)

The Rotating Detonation Engine (2025) is a joint partnership between the SSTA and Graduate research here at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.

This project represents a revolutionary advancement in propulsion technology, utilizing supersonic combustion through controlled detonations rather than the traditional subsonic deflagration used in conventional rocket engines.
